Stella Mastorostergiou

Born in Thessaloniki. She studied dance at the Professional Dance School Rallou Manou (Athens) and the Professional Dance School of Stavroupoli Municipality (Thessaloniki) and she acquired a dance teacher's degree from the Ministry of Culture. She holds an MA in Choreography from of Codarts and Fontys Universities in the Netherlands (2019). She also holds an MSc in Political Science and Sociology from Kapodistrian University of Athens (2011), where she studied with a scholarship from Onassis Foundation and a scholarship of achievement from the programme and a BA in Architecture from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2007). She has studied piano and theory of music at the Conservatory of Thessaloniki municipality. In 2012 she co-created KINOUME dance studio in Thessaloniki, where she works, teaching and choreographing for kids and adults. She has created several short dance pieces, for the stage and for public spaces in Thessaloniki and has collaborated as a dance educator with several museums and cultural organizations. She has choreographed the works: ΕΝΑ (2021)/ΚΙΝΟΥΜΕ dance company/ Thessaloniki, Scoring Sites (2021)/ videodance series,/Thessaloniki, Map of Gestures (2020)/ Dance Days Chania Festival, We are not tigers (2019)/ COMMA festival/ Rotterdam, I don’t see deer (2019)/ choreographic research in public space, Oun Kapan (2017)/ Kapani Project/ Dimitria Festival, Poeme Symphonique (2017)/ in collaboration with die Wolke art group/ Thessaloniki. She is a dance writer for Springback Magazine, invited in Aerowaves’ Springback Academy since 2016. In August 2019, she is invited for the residency ‘Choreographing the City’ by Metropolis- Copenhagen, in order to develop her public space research project I DON’T SEE DEER. In 2021 she received funding from the Greek ministry of Culture to develop the public space research ‘Choreographic Scores for the City’.
