Paraskevi Tektonidou
Paraskevi Tektonidou (PhD) is a dramaturg, dance researcher, critic, curator, and educator. She has a bachelor's and an integrated master's degree from the Department of Music Studies of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and a master in "Dramaturgy and Performance Studies" of the Department of Theatre of the School of Fine Arts of AUTH. At the same time, she received her flute degree. She holds a doctorate from the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA). Her research focuses on contemporary choreography and dramaturgy, with a particular interest in the creation and reception of artistic work, the intersections between artistic genres and thepolitical aspects of artistic practices. She organises weekly seminars at the ASFA on mapping the contemporary international choreographic field, discovering choreographic methodologies and strategies, and their intersections with other arts, especially visual arts and music. She has developed original educational materials, focusing mainly on improvisation and movement, active music listening, mapping music, and singing. Since 2016, she has been writing regularly as a dance critic in a newspaper and online press. Some of her texts have been published in international journals. Since 2018, she has been a member of the Association of Critics and Performing Arts (a member of the international association AICT-IATC). She has been working systematically as a dramatist for the last six years.
